Muhammad Rizki

About

I am Muhammad Rizki. Most people call me Rizq. I have been in tech for about 19 years, and I still enjoy it, which surprises me a little.

The floor

My first job was in a data centre in Jakarta. I racked servers, ran UTP and power cabling, and watched hardware through a KVM switch during long night shifts. Clients called at odd hours and expected things to work. I also met a few legendary sysadmins there. They could diagnose a failing disk by sound and a failing project by the look on someone's face. I learned more from them than from any textbook.

The banks

From there I moved into Java development and consulting for banking and fintech. I worked on systems for Permata and BTN that integrated with core banking. I built pieces of bank switching and Mastercard integration, followed ATM transactions from the card slot to the ledger and back, and shipped mobile banking features for payments and inquiries. Money has a way of teaching you to respect edge cases.

Later I consulted for Bursa Malaysia and led fintech microservices work. Different markets, same lesson. The boring parts are the important parts.

The architecture years

  • Principal Architect, Alodokter (2019 to 2022)
  • Software Architect, Telkom Indonesia (2022 to 2025)
  • Solutions Architect, Axiata Digital Labs (since December 2025), working on large-scale digital transformation and migration

Working with AI agents

I use AI agents every day. They write code, draft runbooks, and help me write Linux and DevOps guides. What makes them useful is not magic. It is knowing enough about the hardware and the software underneath to direct them, check their work, and turn what works into repeatable use cases.

How I lead

Systems keep serving millions during change. Nothing breaks. Nobody gets left behind.

That is the rule I try to hold myself to in every migration. I think AI adoption deserves exactly the same discipline.
